Taxis cost between $38.00 - $45.00 plus tolls and take between 25 to 45 minutes. Group rates are available up to 4 passengers between 8 a.m. and midnight. The airport’s taxi dispatcher can make arrangements for you. New Jersey Transit Airport Express buses depart for the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 8th Av. And 42nd St. every 15 minutes on weekdays from 4:45 a.m. to 3:45 a.m. On weekends service runs from 4:45 a.m. to 3 a.m. From the Port Authority it’s a short taxi ride to midtown. The Gray Line Air Shuttle serves major Manhattan hotels directly to and from the airport. Make arrangements at the airport’s ground transportation center. Shuttles operate from 7:00 a.m. to 11 p.m. New Jersey Transit’s Airlink buses are also available from Newark. They leave every 20 minutes and run from 6:15 a.m. to 2 a.m. to Penn Station in Newark. It takes about 20 minutes and have exact change. From there you catch the PATH trains, which run to Manhattan 24 hrs. a day. Within Manhattan most buses operate 24 hours a day and bus stops are designated by a light blue sign at the bus stop. An express bus will have a green sign. You must have exact change, a token or a Metro Card.
