The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is considered by many to be the most upscale resort in the entire city. At a total cost of 1.5 billion dollars, no expense was spared in putting this masterpiece together. The Venetian is a well-done replica of the city of Venice, and everything has been meticulously detailed, from St. Mark’s Square, Campanile Tower, & Dogde’s Palace, to the Rialto Bridge and Grand Canal, where you can take a nice little cruise in a romantic Gondala. Once you begin touring this incredible resort, you’ll forget that your in Las Vegas.

The lobby area and elevators have been crafted in fine Italian Marble, which helps give the hotel its extremely luxurious theme.

The unique thing about the accommodations of the Venetian is that every guest room is an actual suite. In fact, there are over 3000 elegant suites that range in size from 650 square feet up to over 1450 square feet. A standard suite comes with king size bed, and a sunken living room. The Piazza Suites are the largest of the Venetian in Las Vegas. They come with a double-door entrance with an all Italian marble entryway. Inside you’ll find a living room, formal dining area, and complete wet bar.

Along the Grand Canal are many shops and restaurants. There, you will finding clothing shops for both casual and designer labels, such as Kenneth Cole, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and Sephora.

The casino inside of the Las Vegas Venetian covers 120,000 square feet of space, including 120 game tables, 2,200 slots, along with a separate high-stakes wagering area. There is also, of course, a race and sports book as well.

The most luxurious area on the gaming floor is the private Gold Club Lounge for high rollers. We happened to see Larry Flynt and his wife leaving that area during our stay, and he is one of the "whales" that frequent Las Vegas. A "whale" is the term used for a high-roller that visits the casino. It’s not unusual for a whale to spend a million dollars and up during any one stay. Therefore, whales are given the VIP treatment. For example, Larry Flynt’s wife once commented on how much she really loved one of the diamond rings for sale at one of the shops…..so they gave it to her.

To relax, visit the Canyon Ranch SpaClub, which is modeled after the renowned Canyon Ranch Health Resort, and has previously been voted as the best Spa in Las Vegas, and offers a wide variety of massages and other treatments.

As far as the restaurants go, there are seventeen different restaurants, to choose from. Emeril's Delmonico and Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio are just two of the featured places to dine. The other featured restaurants serve American, Italian, Venetian, French, and Mexican cuisine.

The Venus lounge at the Venetian features a tiki bar where you can choose from an exotic drink menu from one of the seductively, yet elegantly dressed waitresses. There is also table seating in the main lounge as well, although it is recommended that you make a reservation in advance.

So if you want to experience Venice Italy, and experience what a true luxury hotel was meant to be, look no further than the Venetian in Las Vegas.
