In 1952, The Sahara Hotel and Casino was the newest resort in Las
Vegas. Today, more than 50 years later, it is now one of the oldest. The
Sahara in Las Vegas set the standard for the city's ever-growing
entertainment scene, so it’s no wonder why Las Vegas is known today as the
Entertainment Capital of the World.....and it all started with The Sahara.
It was here that the Beatles performed for the very first time they
visited Las Vegas. Located on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, The Sahara recently concluded a $100 million-dollar expansion and remodeling project, suggesting that this historic Las Vegas landmark resort just might be here to see its 100th anniversary in the year 2052. The accommodations at Sahara offer over 1,700 Moroccan style guestrooms and suites, with room service available from 6:00am until midnight. The heart of the resort features a 5,000 square foot pool with over a dozen private cabanas, circular-shaped fountains, and a gazebo-covered spa. The casino, which possesses a Moroccan theme, just like the guest rooms, was originally 50,000 square feet; very small by today’s standards. It has since been expanded to 85,000 square feet, and is beautifully decorated with more than 2 dozen crystal chandeliers. The Sahara has four different restaurants to choose from, including the renowned House of Lords Steakhouse on the casino floor. The other restaurants include Nascar Café, Caravan Café and Paco’s Mexican Bar & Grill. So after a much needed expansion and renovation project, The Sahara in Las Vegas in once again an elite establishment, worth of the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Strip. For a truly historical experience, we put this resort right up there with the rest of them. It would now be accurate to compare The Sahara to a fine wine, as it has truly gotten better with age (courtesy of the $100 million dollar renovation). Therefore, we highly recommend The Sahara Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. |
