The Flamingo Hilton is located at the center of the Las Vegas Strip. It is
also the birthplace of gambling in Las Vegas. Founded in 1946 by infamous
mobster Bugsy Siegel, the Flamingo is the landmark for where it all began,
and was also the first mega-resort on Las Vegas Boulevard. The Flamingo Hilton is now a high-rise hotel comprised of six towers and has over 3500 guest rooms and 200-plus suites. All of the accommodations are very spacious and furnished with king sized beds, as well as oversized whirlpool Jacuzzi tubs. Each room has a breathtaking view of the lush landscaping with over 3,000 palms and real-live beautiful pink flamingos roaming the grounds. Situated in the center of this 15 acre tropical paradise, the pool area is absolutely fantastic, and one of our favorites in all of Las Vegas, because it makes you feel as though you really are in a tropical paradise, not a desert. With the cool blue lagoons, exotic flowers and cascading waterfalls, the Flamingo has a lot going for it. To stay competitive with the other resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, the Flamingo underwent a major renovation project in 1995-1997, and now has 80,000 square feet of casino space. For dining, the resort has 10 different restaurants with a wide variety of foods to choose from. Our favorites were Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Bugsy’s Deli. So if you want to see where it all began, then you really don’t have a choice but to stay at the world-famous Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
